CERA is led by a multi-disciplinary team with advanced expertise in genomics, bioethics, legal analysis, social science research, and related fields. The CERA leadership identifies priority areas in ELSI, ensures the integrity of our collection of ELSI resources and analysis, and guides the community building and engagement activities of the Center.
CERA projects are developed in consultation with experienced scholars.
Aaron Goldenberg, Ph.D. is Director of Research in the Department of Bioethics’ Center for Genetic Research Ethics and Law at the School of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University, one of the first three ELSI-funded CEERs. He is also Co-Director of the Center for Genetic Research Ethics and Law and Leader of the Ethics Core for the Institute for Computational Biology.
Elizabeth Cohn, RN, NP, Ph.D., FAAN is the Associate Provost for Research and the Rudin Professor at the Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing, City University of New York. Her work focuses on increasing representation of minorities in genetic and genomic research and working collaboratively with communities-at-risk.
