FOSTERING INTEGRITY AND SOCIETAL IMPACT IN GENOMICS THROUGH MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP PRACTICES
Institution: WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY
FOA Number: PA-14-044
Abstract
PUBLIC HEALTH RELEVANCE: Researchers engaged in conducting genetic and genomic science are significant players in advancing biomedical science and health care. Through their work, they are a vital part of the ethical, legal, and social outcomes of science, but there is a gp in knowledge concerning how genomic scientists navigate the complex ethical, legal, and social issues related to their research. This project will specifically explore the management and leadership practices of scientists as they relate to ethical, legal, and social issues, which will ay the groundwork for future research and practical resources and tools to assist researchers with meeting these challenges in their work.
