Type
Conference

ELSIcon2022 • Networking Session • May 31, 2022

Katherine Blizinsky, Subhashini Chandrasekharan

This listening session is intended to engage ELSI researchers and stakeholders to: i) disseminate program’s experiences and learnings on ELSI issues, (ii) share insights from ELSI researchers on, and relevant to the program, and (iii) gather input on emerging and future ELSI considerations for the All of Us Research Program. The emphasis of this session will be listening to and learning from the ELSI community in ways that may improve All of Us going forward. In the last two years the All of Us Research Program has actively integrated ELSI stakeholder's perspectives in the development of policies, practices, and design of the program by leveraging internal and external subject matter expertise. The program has also learned from various activities (such as oversight of data access and use) about integrating ELSI considerations into research practice. This session aims to create a space for open discussion and exchange of learnings and insights from practice and ELSI research with a focus on current and emerging ELSI considerations for the All of Us Research Program. These may include concerted use of genomic and social determinants of health data, return of genetic results, and meaningful inclusion and health equity considerations in precision medicine research.
