The Institute for Public Health Genetics (IPHG) offers research and training programs that provide the context for discoveries surrounding the impact of genetic and environmental factors on human and population health.

The National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC) provides practice guidelines and resources on several topics, a Practice Guideline Development Manual and COI Disclosure Form, a list of topics for which practice guidelines are in development, and links to retired NSGC Practice Guidelines.

The Penn Postdoctoral Training Program in the Ethical, Legal and Social Implications (ELSI) of Genetics and Genomics is supported by a training grant from the National Human Genome Research Institute. Under the direction of Steven Joffe, M.D., M.P.H., the program prepares young scholars for success as creative, independent investigators in the field of ELSI research.

The Stanford Training Program in Ethical, Legal, and Social Implications (ELSI) Research at the Stanford Center for Biomedical Ethics was established in 2016 with support from the National Human Genome Research Institute of the National Institutes of Health. The goal of the Fellowship in ELSI Research, overseen by Mildred Cho, Ph.D., Fellowship Program Director, is to create independent scholars who can conduct rigorous ELSI research.

The Harvard/MGH Center on Genomics, Vulnerable Populations, and Health Disparities is a joint research center between Harvard University and Massachusetts General Hospital that conducts studies at the intersection of genomics, epidemiology, and health disparities research, with a specific focus on the diseases prevalent in populations currently underserved in the healthcare system.

The University of Michigan Training Program in ELSI Research, funded by the National Human Genome Research Institute at the National Institutes of Health, the University of Michigan School of Public Health, Rackham Graduate School, and the Center for Bioethics and Social Sciences in Medicine, seeks to prepare the next generation of ELSI scholars for success as innovative, impactful investigators.

The UCLA Institute for Society and Genetics incorporates scientists fully in the process of understanding ethical, legal, and societal impacts of the applications of their genetic and genomic research and is committed to public outreach and education at the interface of society and genetics.
